A New Day features me, Joni Margaux, on lead and harmony vocals.

The intro, verse and instrumental vamp are all laid over a driving funk/rock/fusion bass line. The choruses change both the feel and the key moving from Am to C. Instead of a solo in the instrumental section, Randell intensifies the groove and adds counter melody and harmonic interest by gradually adding funky instrumental parts building to a climax which features our horns playing a whole new melody.
