a combination of a “singer/songwriter vibe” and some heavy rock! i had a definite theme in mind for this one, i wanted something quite tranquil for the first section then to turn it “completely on it's head” for the 2nd one ~ something i hope i've achieved. dw

before the memory slips...away...

i tried to pick up the pieces...
i don't know what went wrong...
they slipped through my fingers..
and suddenly they were gone...

i'm standing here...
looking back through the years...
so much to remember...
so many hidden tears...

is there any point feeling regret...
for those things you cannot change?
what was what is and will be...
is all that remains...

maybe now's the time to walk away...
maybe hope can see me through?
turn the page close the book...
why is that so hard to do?

i know a man lives on his own...
only weed and whisky for company...
sits in his armchair looking for reason...
thinks behind every mystery there's a conspiracy...
keeps searching youtube for some revelation...
official explanations are dismissed out of hand...
trying to find the truth that will take him away...
lead him to the promised land...
