when our brave soldiers had fought and died
we pra for salvation of their immortal souls
though our losses were grievous, it can't be denied
their lives were not given in vain
the lord has reaped his crop of grain
their souls the wheat their bodies chaff
but soon we'll greet them once a gain

and when my family was taken from me
i longed for to join them in heaven above
and i knew life without them would be misery
and nothing could ever bring cheer
but what a joy t'will be to hear
my dear departed children laugh
their voices ringing loud and clear

the greatest sages of all history
the prophets and poets whose time has long past
i am hopeful that they'll be imparting to me
the knowledge that only they knew
for now there come the chosen few
who'll gladly speak on our behalf
what wondrous tidings will come through
