jelena is a dark jazzy suite where vocals, bass and minimal guitar interventions dialogue with background ‘studio’ sounds, percussions, reverbs and dreamy piano strings. the song has been written and arranged during the springtime between london, rhodes and dubai. first, it was recorded as a demo in november 2018 in the living room where sons of viljems rehe. a final and complete version with a full arrangement came to light a year later, during a recording session at musicland studio in london.

the background sounds’ intimate arrangements give a decisive contribution to the ambience of this piece, they effectively transport the listener in the same room with the muscians.
