creating joyful was a lot of fun. i centred the idea around a series of chords. i then wrote the melody to correspond with each chord using different devices that are formed through theoretical rules. it is simple in character with an interesting melody line. i then created a story line to emerge within the phrase structure to be interpreted by the listener using their imagination.
as it came together it created an emotional excitement for me.
i would love to hear about how you interpret the music in your mind. just as important the listener can also enjoy the music as pure sound.
