There is something I gotta get off my chest
Not another day can go by, or another night of unrest
I dreaded and hoped that this day would never come
The day I opt out of this relationship and I tell you I’m done

So, today it’s about my truth and my life
I can no longer ignore or deny what’s inside
I want that flowing fountain of joy in my life
To quench my soul and make my heart right

Now, surly I will be criticized for what I’m about to say
Go head tell me I’m wrong, but it’s about the truth today
You can claim innocence and put nails in my hands
And crucify me over, and over again

See, If you gave me attention I wouldn’t be open for it then
Say what you want, but others would say amen
You greatly minimized and ignored me - time and time again
So, today my soul’s sadness will lighten a little and begin to mend

See the seed of abandonment was planted by you
As, I only receive a little attention, when you have nothing else to do
You only see that spectacular vision within your mind
Problem with your vision is - I’m not in it I'm left behind

So today you are released, and free of me
I will embrace only the joy that meant for me
I may not have that long to live
So I want joy in my life that willingly gives

I confess

You know it’s been over for a long time

That truly matters
Come to grips
