have a look on snipeworld for the jack snipe version of this traditional whaling tune. after recording it i wished we'd had a drummer available to add a drum track. after years of thinking about it i decided to do my own version of the song. it's fair to say it's nothing like the snipe version ~ slower for a start as i used a half-time drum pattern. i reduced the original chord sequence to a kind of “chord riff” which runs through the first section of the song. the instrumental section is a different chord sequence as used in another version of the same song. i kept the power chords idea from the snipe version but left out the manic guitar solos! dw
