a month or so ago my dear old friend mark got in touch to ask if i'd be willing to record some traditional rhymes for his eldest daughter who's going abroad to teach young kids english. she wanted to use them as a teaching aid. the idea is to have a full track with vocals on it and a backing track without vocals the kids can sing over. so, i dived in and have recorded 14 tracks culled from a wealth of traditional material. i was so happy with the results i also decided i had enough tracks to make another solo al. as many nursery rhymes are quite short i ended up doing several medleys. this one was inspired by a cassette we used to have ed “hooked on classics” which had various classical themes underpinned by a disco rhythm...
